Measuring Steam Through Recovered Condensate
The Cadillac® CG gravity condensate meter measures and totalizes condensate returned from a steam system. It uses the relationship that one pound of steam produces one pound of water, allowing condensate volume to be adjusted for density and expressed as a mass-based measurement in pounds.
Condensate Returns
Condensate from the steam system enters the gravity meter through the return piping.
Volume Is Measured
The meter repeatedly measures known quantities of condensate and records the accumulated volume.
Steam Use Is Totalized
The condensate measurement is density-adjusted to provide a totalized reading of steam consumption in pounds.
